Our Story

Global Justice Intelligence Eyes, Inc. is Co-Founded in 2022 by Dr. Denakpon L. R. Tchobo, a specialist in international criminal law and human rights law, along with Professor and Dean Michael P. Scharf, an American Attorney, Expert in International Law with more than forty (40) years experiences, and Attorney Kristen Connors, a brave woman, international lawyer dedicated to fighting for justice and protecting human dignity in all over the world.

Dr. Tchobo was the recipient of the Case Global Service Award in May 2021, and the author of the proposed draft convention on the prevention and the punishment of “groupicide.” His Doctoral (S.J.D.) thesis, entitled: “Human Rights In International Criminal Law: Article 53 Should Be The Voice of Victims Under The Rome Statute of ICC,” was on the right of victims to compel prosecution within the international criminal justice system under the theory of the conciliation of rights of victims and the interests of justice. According to him, “there is no justice without victims.”

“During my LLM program journey at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, my Professor of international criminal law, through a case simulation as home assignment, asked me to represent a perpetrator who killed many victims in armed conflict for peace negotiation.” Said Denakpon Tchobo.  He added: “Frustrated, I told my Professor I do not feel comfortable to represent a perpetrator of international crimes for peace negotiation and then, it is not fair to grant amnesty to the perpetrators in detriment to the victims; it is not fair to allow perpetrators to sit down at the peace negotiations table to negotiate peace with amnesties in absence of victims. This mechanism shields them from impunity and throws away the victims in oblivion.” Falling in dejection, Denakpon chose to write his LL.M. paper on Peace and Justice which he entitled: “Tension between Peace v. Justice under ICC: Influence of Alternative  Justice Mechanisms.

After graduating with Honor in International Criminal Law and Procedure from his LLM program, Denakpon decided to continue raising victims’ voices by pursuing a doctorate research scholarship degree with his thesis “Human Rights In International Criminal Law” where he said: “Justice is a process or action that seeks to protect the rights of victims as well as those presumed or accused, through a fair process, for normative purposes.” And then, asserts that There Is No Justice Without Victims. With that slogan, dedicated to fighting for victims’ rights after a short time discussion with his former international law Professor and Dean, S.J.D. second faculty reviewer Michael P. Scharf , Dr. Tchobo has started an international NGO called: Global Justice Intelligence Eyes, Inc., a non-profit that is focused on fighting international crime around the world by bringing perpetrators to justice and fighting for victim’s rights before international courts and tribunals .

His philosophy as a Co-founder is that we must leave a peaceful, secure, and safe world for future generations with the aim to avoid jeopardizing their lives and freedom.

Supporting firmly Denakpon’s vision on victims’ rights protection and promotion, Attorney Michael P. Scharf and Attorney Kristen Connors have joined him as Co-Founders of GJIE for the maintenance of international peace and security.
